Our workshops are designed to give you an advantage at every stage of your career, from part-time to graduate employment, and free access to experts in all aspects of employability.

These workshops are face to face and held at Flinders University, Victoria Square.

Guest Speaker – Hiring Manager

Wednesday 5 April, 3.30pm-5pm

In this interactive session, you will be able to ask questions to a hiring manager. The session will include a short presentation, followed by questions from the audience. The hiring manager will specifically focus on what hiring managers look for in a resume and cover letter and how you can make sure you stand out in the candidate pool.


How to Write a Cover Letter

Wednesday 12 April, 3.30pm-5pm

This workshop will help you write a strong cover letter for any job. You will learn how to identify job requirements and how to present your own abilities to fulfill those. Come along and learn how to improve your cover letter and give yourself the best chance of an interview.


Preparing for an Interview

Thursday 13 April, 3.30pm-5pm

In this workshop you will learn what is being evaluated in a face-to-face interview, what are the main questions you are likely to be asked and how to answer them. We will also cover time delayed interview where you will be asked to record answers to your questions before you get to the face-to-face interview.


Interview Practice

Thursday 20 April, 3pm-5pm

This workshop will also give you the opportunity to participate in a mock interview and gain helpful feedback from industry expert.


Guest Speaker – Interview Insights

Thursday 27 April, 3.30pm-5pm

This session our guest speaker will focus on providing insights into good and bad interview practices and what a hiring manager is looking for when they ask their questions. You will also have the opportunity to ask your own questions of the guest speaker. This session is a must for those who are getting to the interview stage by not receiving an offer.


Networking and Your LinkedIn Profile

Thursday 4 May, 3.30pm-5pm

Networking is a useful skill that you can develop whilst you study. Join this workshop to learn how you can improve your network and build relationships with your industry. This session will include creating or updating your LinkedIn profile, small talk, using your pitch and other hints and tips that will help you in any professional meeting or event.


The ABC’s of Australian Business Culture

Thursday 11 May, 3.30pm-5pm

This workshop will teach you about business etiquette, otherwise known as what’s acceptable and expected in a professional environment, as this varies from country to country. In this workshop, you will learn about the main cultural differences found in Australian workplaces and some very practical tips that will help you fit into a new workplace environment. You will learn top tips to help you in your journey at work in Australia.


Your First 100 Days in the New Job

Thursday 18 May, 3.30pm-5pm

Graduates often ask us three main questions: How do I get a job? How do I keep a job? And how do I get promoted? All these questions are directly related to what employers expect of their staff. This workshop will cover time management, negotiating at work and key performance indicators. This is a must attend for those wanting to progress in their careers in Australia.


Guest Speaker – Success in the Workplace

Thursday 25 May, 3.30pm-5pm

In this interactive session, students and graduates will be able to ask all their questions to a manager who has a lot of experience working with international students and migrants. They will be able to share the main difficulties faced and what you can do to prepare and succeed in the Australian workplace. This session will cover business culture, customs and practices you will commonly experience working in Australia.
