According to Headspace, maintaining your physical health boosts your mood, releases stress, reduces anxiety, improves your concentration and helps you sleep better.
Here are three ways you can keep up with your physical health as an international student living in Adelaide.
1. Explore Adelaide’s walking trails
There are many beautiful walking spots located across Adelaide, in the inner and outer suburbs, such as the Grange Beach to Henley Beach walk or the Morialta Conservation Park walking trails and the CBD, such as the University Loop.
According to the Heart Foundation, walking an average of 30 minutes or more a day can lower the risk of heart disease.
Walking is an excellent way to explore a new place and is a great form of transport. It also gives you a chance to switch off from your studies to have a brain break and reset.
Bonus tip: If you catch public transport to work or to study, getting off one or two stops before your usual stop means you can walk that bit extra while getting your steps in.
Check out the Walking SA website to learn more about the walks you can do across Adelaide.
