Entry Requirements

To be accepted for enrolment in a Doctor of Philosophy candidature, an applicant must:

Have at least one of the following Australian qualifications (which must include studies relevant to the proposed field of research), or the equivalent qualification as approved by the relevant authorized delegate:

  • A Bachelors degree with Honours class 1 or 2A
  • A Graduate Diploma or Masters degree by coursework with a research component of at least 18 units, with an average grade of Distinction or better in the research component
  • A Masters by Research degree

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing, 6.0 Reading, 6.0 Listening; TOEFL (Internet): 80 Overall with 18 Speaking, 22 Writing, 18 Reading, 18 Listening; Pearson PTE Academic: 58 Overall with 50 Speaking, 58 Writing, 50 Reading, 50 Listening; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): C
