ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants will need to have a passion for working with children. An entry health & skills questionnaire and interview will be required prior to enrolment.
Current and valid Provide First Aid certificate, Department of Communities & Social Inclusion (DCSI) Screening Check for working with children, & Physical Fitness are required for this course.
Students are also expected to hold a current Child Safe Environments Certificate prior to attending professional practice placement.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 5.5 Academic (min 5.0 in any band). Some programs require a score of 6.0 (overall band score) or higher; TOEFL (IBT): 60 (with Reading and Writing not less than 18); Cambridge English (CAE & CPE): 169 (with no band below 162); PTE (Pearson Test of English): 50 (with Reading and Writing communicative scores not below 50); High School: Successful completion of the last 2 years of high/ secondary school, where the language of instruction was English; Malaysian SPM 1119 English: A –; OET (Occupational English Test): Pass C, D.
This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.
Students enjoy a supportive learning environment where care and attention is given to their individual needs. Credit for previous community services experience may apply.
This program is delivered using a blended learning mode. Students attend regular on-campus sessions each month, supported by self paced online learning. Each learner has a dedicated Educator to provide support through their learning journey.

There are a total of 28 units of competency required for successful completion of this qualification, a list of the required units have been included on the following page.
This qualification includes Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113).
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
This course includes a minimum of 240 hours of industry placement within an approved Early Childhood Education & Care centre.
It is a condition of the program that students undertake industry placement. This is generally completed part time in addition to campus learning commitments.. If you are already working in a registered and approved child care centre, you are able to undertake your industry experience within your workplace.
